Dear colleagues, partners, and friends,
Kazakhstan is home to a new generation of scientists whose contributions are shaping fields far beyond our national borders. Over the past few decades, many of our brightest minds have pursued advanced education and research at the world’s leading universities and institutions. Today, they stand at the forefront of innovation — driving global progress from top research centers across the globe.
This is exactly why we created the Qazaq International Science and Technology Association (QIST) — to unite Qazaq scientists on the global stage, foster meaningful collaboration, support the next generation of talent, and contribute to our nation through science. In doing so, we aim to build a lasting intellectual legacy for future generations.
Though many of our members live and work abroad, they remain deeply engaged with Kazakhstan — contributing to national science policy and academic development. As a member of the Presidential Working Group of Foreign Experts, I have witnessed firsthand the power of diaspora-led collaboration, and the critical role of structured platforms like QIST in turning global expertise into national impact.
Founded in 2014 and officially registered in 2024, QIST community has grown into a dynamic global network of over 150 members across 30 countries, including 28 professors, postdoctoral researchers, PhD candidates, and industry experts.
Whether you're based in San Francisco, Boston, London, or Tokyo — I warmly invite you to join us as a collaborator, supporter, or scientist. Let’s work together to empower our global talents.
Professor Serik Meirmanov MD, PhD Vice‑President of Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, JAPAN
